The Williamstown High School Community of students, parents and staff is committed to providing an orderly, safe, caring and stimulating environment that allows all students to reach their potential.We believe that this is achieved through:
  • The promotion of respect for self and others, for property and for the environment;
  • The development of courteous, considerate and co-operative ways of behaving; and
  • Taking responsibility for personal actions.
Williamstown High School has a strong Student Well-being Team lead by the two Assistant Campus Principals. The team consists of all Year Level Coordinators and the Student Weel-being Coordinators from both Campuses. This team meets regularly and is responsible for the school’s Home Group Program, Orientation and Head Start Programs, camps & excursions, student welfare programs and policies relating to student conduct, including the Drug Education Policy, Anti-Bullying Policy, Welfare & Discipline Policy, Student Driver Policy and the Sun Smart Policy. These policies are reviewed regularly by the team.The Student Well-being Team is also primarily responsible for reviewing, modifying and maintaining the school’s Code of Conduct. We do so with the guiding principles (listed above), firmly in mind.Williamstown High School’s Code of Conduct is not simply a policy, but a working document. We take pride in the fact that students and staff are aware of their rights and responsibilities to the school, to each other and to the community.The Williamstown High School’s Code of Conduct has at its core six rules:
  1. We must attend regularly, be on time for classes and be properly prepared for work.
  2. We must allow learning to take place and must follow instructions.
  3. We must show consideration for each other and ensure that our words and actions cause no harm or offence.
  4. We must move and act in a way that isn’t disruptive or unsafe for others and ourselves.
  5. We must always act in ways that look after our own, other people’s and school property.
  6. We must act in a way that reflects well on ourselves, our families and our school.
Student Welfare While all our students receive ongoing support from their Home Group teachers, our Student Welfare Coordinators provide assistance when/if there are difficulties affecting their school life and beyond. Our Student Welfare Coordinators assist students with emotional and social difficulties, maintaining confidentiality at all times, while providing teachers with the necessary assistance so that student progress and achievement is maintained. Where necessary, our Student Well-Being Coordinators will arrange access to external support services for students with particular welfare needs.
