Williamstown High School Section 'A' Athletics Winners!!! 

 

On Wednesday 9th September, Williamstown High had another extremely successful day. We had some fantastic results!

 

We won 5 out of a possible 7 pennants for the day. Junior Boys, Intermediate Boys and Girls and Senior Girls all taking out their age group section.

 

Our Junior Girls and Senior Boys came 2nd. Overall, we won the section 'A' athletics carnival.

 

Great commitment and effort was shown by all our students. A special effort, in which we had 3 competitors in the 12-13 Boys 1500 meters, resulted in a 1st - Desay Weavan Cahill, 2nd Nathan Pearce and 3rd Sam McCall.

 

 

Girls Netball

 

 

On Friday 4th of September, our Year 8 girls Netball team won the VSSSA state final!

 

This has capped off a remarkable effort by our netballers. The Year 9 and 10 team won the Waverley International, the Victorian Schools Knockout tournament and the VSSSA state winners. The Year 8 also took out the Waverley International, the Victorian schools knockout tournament and the VSSSA state title. This achievement has never be done before and is an amazing achievement by our girls! 

 

 

Netball and Badminton

 

 

On Friday 21st August Williamstown High School competed in the western zone finals in the Year 7 and 8 girls badminton along with the Year 8 girls netball. We had another very successful day with the Year 7 girls badminton and Year 8 girls netball both advancing through to the State Finals. A fantastic effort for all of our student!

 

 

Girls Netball 

 

On Wednesday 19th August the Intermediate Girls Netball tean won the STATE Girls Netball competition!! This is a fantastic achievement for all of the girls involved. Big congratulations to the following students - Maggie Lind, Abbey Mcllelan, Morgan Mitchell, Brihid Virtue, Nicole Janosevic and Veronica Katilius. 

 

 

Netball

Our intermediate girls neball team won the western zone finals held at Altona Stadium on Friday 7th August. They will be competiting in the state finals in a fortnight. We wish the team the best of luck for then!

 

State Cross Country 

On Friday the 24th of July the state cross country competition was held. We had a very successful day with nearly all of our competitors running their best times and finishing in the top 30. Jack Rayner and Nathan Pearce finished 7th in their event out of 120 runners and the under 14s boys cross country team consisting of Jack Rayner, Jack Schroder, Brad Erickson and Alex Pike won the team event convincingly.
