Green Stuff for Kids

Green Stuff for Kids is a young readers' guide to what's up with the planet and what they can do to make a difference. Williamstown High School actually features in the book by Tanya Ha and there is a page which details the work staff and students do within the school to set a shining example of the ultimate in green education.

The Bayview Street library has the book so students can go and take a look. Click here to view the page that features Williamstown High School.

Shine

Victorian Government schools are making a difference by investing in flexible classrooms, modern technology and a great range of choices and opportunities to give every child every opportunity to shine.

A number of our students have been involved in the Shine programme and last week there was a supplement published in the Hobsons Bay Times Leader which includes some reports from our students.

Instrumental Music Camp

On 19th and 20th October Willi High held our annual Instrumental Music Camp.  In the past we have taken just the intermediate concert band to rehearsal camp. This year, we tried something different and invited all Bayview students who are part of the Instrumental Music program.

So, we had Junior band (Year 7’s) Intermediate band (Years 7-8) and students from years 8 & 9 who are in the Pasco Street based senior band. These more experienced students acted as tutors for the younger students. We also invited some Year 10’s and 11’s who acted as tutors for the intermediate students.

The camp was a great success and the students worked very hard rehearsing for the concert next week.

Thanks to all staff who attended and worked so hard to make it such a success.
